Lineage & Relations:
Put information about your character's family and relations here.
Lineage:
Mother: The Kami, Fortuna (deceased)
Father: N/A
Siblings: They are all Homunculi created by Fortuna, none of his siblings are 'blood'. The only known sibs would be Elraine (deceased) and Reala; there are probably others like himself who became 'human'; but who knows when or where they'd be...So not his problem.
Relations:
Crush: None Yet
Love: See Above
Rival: Anyone who wants it, gets it!
Enemy: Like above...but only if they really piss him off.
Appearance:
Due to his...living conditions; he is quite 'small' for his age; standing at at 161 Cm and weighing 57 Kg. However he appears, he is well toned, allowing a nice balance of speed and strength...but doesn't make for a great tank. He has pale skin and bright green eyes. His hair is greenish-brown which he cuts himself, giving it the unkempt look.
The Seishin has one distinguishing mark; during one fight, Ryuusei wrapped the Mithril Chain he wears as a 'belt' around his right arm. And used it as a conductor to boost his Raijinken. The attack did the job, but burned his arm severely. Luckily, his healing ability restored function to it. However, the skin is permanently 'white'... which really doesn't look that different from his normal tone. The burn left several red marks from some of the chain's links... And no he is NOT a masochist!
His fashion sense is...utter crap. He pretty much lives in a tattered red T-shirt with "RYUUSEI 765" written on the front, and a large "T" on the back. A pair of dark green and light brown patterned camo pants. The aforementioned Mithril Chain Belt that he stole from some ship yard, and finally a pair of lace-less black sneakers. Alternatively, he'll wear a dark-green tank top on the back is a big red star with a stylized 'R-F' cut out. and matching green cargo pants. In short; a ghetto G.I. Joe.
Personality:
Ryuusei's life as a street fighter didn't do well for him... Instead of an 'upstanding citizen', he's rude, crude and lewd. He's got a dark sense of humor and cusses like a sailor; in short, he's a little punk-ass and damn proud of it! However, if someone could endure the crap and pushed hard enough, he'll give 'em their 15 seconds.
He may not be 'book smart' but damn is he 'street smart'. Years of... trial and error taught him how to watch and read people without calling attention to himself (and then pickpocket them). Once he learned to fight, he didn't need to rely on thievery to get by... but doesn't mean he'll let those skills get rusty. And because he's not 'book smart' he knows he doesn't have all the answers. He doesn't like to tell people their business... unless they start shit with him first, THEN it's on!
The Seishin grew up in a cold, rainy city; although he'd gotten bored with the routine, he hasn't forgotten his roots. In the rain, Ryuusei channels the good old days. When most people feel down, he's full of piss and vinegar plus his senses are heightened; making fighting him in the rain a WHOLE new ballgame! Even when injured or in personal turmoil, or he knows he can't win; he'll cause his enemies to wake up in the night, hoping that stain down there is sweat...
He first heard of his Seishin identity from a psychopath over a loudspeaker, while his Kill-mechs were going to town on... well a town. He then learned the truth of it by seeing through the eyes of that zealot bitch, Elraine. And his experience with Religion is that people only turn to it out of convenience. These all leave a bitter taste in his mouth, so he'd prefer to keep the whole thing on the down low. He'll gladly take being openly hated as a punk over blind worship as a...deity any day. However, that doesn't mean he'll insult the intelligence of whoever can sense him, but he won't spill his guts either.
Abilities & Weaknesses:
Here is a list of your character's strengths, weaknesses, and abilities. Describe each one in decent detail.
Weapon: Swordian Dimlos - Though not his primary style of fighting, the Seishin does carry this thing around, so he might as well use it. Dimlos is one of 6 Swordians created by the genius scientist Harold Belserius during the final phase of the Tenshisensou. The S-D is a longsword; designed to balance slash and thrusting attacks. The blade is made from the bio-alloy 'Belserium' named after their creator. It is resistant to corrosion and increases in durability over time. The blade also possesses the attribute of fire.
Embedded in the hilt is the large Lens known as the 'Core Crystal'; it houses the consciousness of Dimlos Timbre, Commander of the Ground Army's 1st Division. However much Lens energy the Crystal absorbed from the 'Kami no Me' (Elraine's Lens) explosion. It sustained 'damage', and even after the Seishin' awakening; Dimlos hasn't shown any sign of his presence. It is unknown whether the Old Soldier is still in there or not. This means Ryuusei must activate the weapon's fire attribute 'manually' by channeling his 'Goushourai' Arte into it.
Powers/Abilities
- He possesses regenerative abilities, which played a large part in his survival growing up (as the survival rate for orphan children was incredibly low). They kept him from outright starving to death and helped him recover from the numerous beating he'd endured in the early years.
- His fighting skills, are entirely self-taught. Originally to endure day-to-day life, but as he grew up he began to enjoy it. His style is designed around the cold, rainy Darilshade. It's primarily wind/lightning-based...with a few other things to keep a fight interesting.
- Hasn't aged a day since his awakening.
- As a child of Fortuna, he has the ability to traverse Space-Time. However, it requires a vast amount of Lens Energy.
Weaknesses/Physical Flaws/Psychological Flaws:
- Despite being a 'Kami', his strength has no supernatural augmentation. He's as strong as a normal human. He can boost it with the Goushourai Arte; but that's only temporary.
- He may not age, but he's still kill-able. Knives, guns, explosions, an axe in the back. They will all work...just make sure to finish the job right then and there.
- Regardless of the outcome, he's the kind of person who'd rather 'feel' out a new opponent than just 'watch' someone else throw down.
- His ability to traverse Space-Time requires Lens energy which is quite rare... It's the reason he carries the Swordian Dimlos as the Core Crystal was infused with power from the Kami no Me, so it alone can enable transport. This doesn't mean he can 'leap' constantly if he lands somewhere that 'sucks', he's gotta wait at least a normal Earth week for the Crystal to recharge...so he'll just have to make the best of it. If he actually loses the sword or it's destroyed, he's completely SOL.
- The majority of his Artes use Chi as opposed to Ki; and are Elemental. Subject to the same strengths and weaknesses as elemental magic.
- He's not too hot about working with a team....as he was abducted and forced to do so the first time around. So they wasted their enemy and the other 2 avenged some of their friends. And Ryuusei even gained respect for them (the cutie more than the cosplayer). But because he was forced makes him hesitant to work with a group...Unless he REALLY likes them.
- His greatest fear, is to go down Elraine's path. To lose ALL faith in humanity or any other sentient race and try to use his power to lord over them.
History:
This story actually begins in another time... when the zealot Seijou Elraine manipulated their world's timeline to satisfy her own ends. 'Mankind NEEDS God' was her justification for reviving the damned. First was Lion Magnus, who betrayed the Swordian Masters, but died while aiding them; only his treason was remembered by the world. When Lion refused her offer of 'revenge', Elraine reached into the depths of Hell to summon the brutal warrior Barbatos Goetia, who betrayed the Ground Army for power and glory, but was forgotten by history. While sent after the Four Heroes; Barbatos only managed to kill Stan Aileron; the partner of his own murderer, Dimlos. and maim his wife Rutee, all in front of a young Kyle and Loni.
Meanwhile, Elraine hoarded Lens' in order to summon her 'mother', the Kami Fortuna. After defeating both the Seijou and Fortuna; Stan's son, Kyle Dunamis destroyed the Lens composite. This reset the timeline so that Elraine never appeared in the world; this came at the cost of the Seijou, Reala's life as well as the other children of Fortuna. Or so it would seem, while exploring the Leguna Ruins; Kyle had a feeling of deja vu. When he arrived at the summit, Reala appeared before him; she was alive and well, were there any others?
Seinegald''s Capital City; Darilshade, 11 years ago.
This once great city was rotting; the Oberon Company executives made a play for World Domination. With them gone, the Company itself fell apart and the country lost it's primary source of revenue, Lens. The Royal Family disappeared, and the Nobles left to pool their resources with the Streylize Temple, building a new city up north, Aigrette. Darilshade became a rainy slum, populated by the poor, bums, low-lives and one Seishin...
He looked about 8-year-old, like many of the kids he was an orphan. He took whatever he needed; food, clothing, hell even his own name. The boy first heard 'Ryuusei' from a foreigner who said it meant something like 'fallen star' and made it his name. Ryuusei wasn't a fighter; being the little guy always put him at the ass-end of ass-kickings from the 'bigger' street kids. Fortunately, that all changed...
One day, while stumbling out of an alley, the boy witnessed a swordsman named Grid; he was the leader of this loser trio named Shikkoku no Tsubasa who seek fame and fortune, but in over a decade, haven't a single Gald to their name, but continue to lurk around town to 'inspire the youth'. Grid was showing off an 'Ougi' he'd mastered to his buddies John and Milly. Afterwords, the over-confident idiot tossed the Training Manual down a storm drain.
Maybe it was from that last concussion, but Ryuusei dove into the sewer to fish it out. The water had ruined the writing... if it could be called that, but some of the drawings could still be made out. It looked easy enough for a kid; why someone pushing 40 would get excited over it, he'd never know. So he picked up a broken pipe and started practicing, after several weeks, he'd learned to channel and release air as a projectile attack. So he set off with his pipe to get a little payback against...one of the street gangs who beat on him. What he didn't count on was just how hard it was to hit a moving target while practically dragging the pipe with both hands. He'd missed every single attack. The boss decided 'enough was enough' and his boys wolf-packed him!
Nearly a month later, when he could move properly; Ryuusei decided to start practicing it again. Since he wasn't that strong he couldn't rely on the pipe. Instead he tried it out unarmed, with much quicker results, for one he could move easily. When it came time for the rematch, the lil' bastard offered up a free shot; which Ryuusei returned by Souhajin'ing the snot's left ear off! The boy did a victory dance while the worst bully he knew was on the ground bleeding and bawllin' for his mama. He didn't stop with just that one move. He continued to practice it until he learned it's variations. As time passed, Ryuusei obtained other Training Manuals. He encountered other fighters; experienced their attacks in battle and dissected the mechanics, creating his own versions. Because of where he lived, Ryuusei shaped his fighting style primarily around Wind and Lightning Artes as those elements were quite damaging in that cold, rainy city.
By the time he was 17, Aigrette was well under construction; vary few visited the old capital anymore. All Ryuusei had for rivals were the same losers he'd kicked the crap out of for the last decade... the horse was on it's second trip to Hell. So he set his sights on the the Continent of Fitzgald and Noischtat which was famous for it's Coliseum. Originally, he wanted to wait until he had sufficient funds for a boat trip. However, these plans were derailed when the murder of a lost traveler was pinned on him. Even after turning in the real killers who confessed and still had the bloody weapon on them. The Magistrates wanted a payday more than justice so he was forced to make haste.
Were his troubles over? Oh no! after evading that mess, Ryuusei encountered a girl named Rimuru (no Official romanization, so I keep it as it looks); Stan Aileron's niece. And the time-displaced, masked swordsman 'Judas'. The two were on the trail of a Tenchisensou war criminal and evil genius named Simon Gutri. They were both quite powerful and took him down with ease, then drug him along on their 'crusade'.
The Professor had his own plans for the Seishin; he allowed the three to enter his headquarters, Helraios. There he revealed the believed destroyed Swordian Dimlos. Dimlos' Core Crystal was irradiated with an immense amount of Lens Energy from Elraine's Lens the Kami no Me. By exposing the teen to that build-up of energy, it forced his own dormant power to awaken...he was also shown the 'circumstances of his birth' as if though Elraine's own eyes.
After Gutri's apparent death, Ryuusei went his own way with Dimlos in tow. The whole experience left a bitter taste in his mouth. First; the crooked Magistrates, well actually that was normal but it still sucked the big one. Then having this chode named Gutri, reveal his identity to him over a loudspeaker while raining hell upon Aigrette... Next, a platoon of so-called holy knights, who moments earlier were tripping over themselves to lynch him; were doing the same to kiss his ass. God how he hated Religion! Of course, that was NOTHING compared to witnessing Elraine's Hubris as if through her own eyes, which was so mind-blowing that even mentioning it to a Shrink would make him a lifer in the Asylum; so heavily medicated that he'll life that sentence in his own drool, piss and shit! And when he FINALLY thought something good would come out of it , that Rimuru chick shot him down.
"This sucks more than anything that has sucked before." Which says a lot as it takes a lot to R-E-A-L-L-Y upset him. So he decided to use that power, not to travel through time but to leave that world altogether. He figured that if he was going to make ANY sort of peace with his identity; it wouldn't be at 'home'.
RP Sample:
"Attention Teachers and Pupils," A male voice 'sounding' in his mid-40s suddenly came from the PA Box. "today we have a new transfer student gracing our halls. His name is Jack Moff." Inside the Principal's office...was not the Principal. Instead was a teen with short green hair. The boy smirked, but kept his cool. He glanced at the door, which he'd blocked off with a chair and was being pounded on quite hard by a fat, balding man outside screaming obscenities.
"I'M GONNA KILL YOU, YOU LITTLE BASTARD! OPEN THIS DAMNED DOOR!" Is what came from the other side, which the boy just ate up.
He then turned back to face the Mic, resuming his impersonation of the educator. "Please try to make Jack feel welcome at our fine institution and not rub him the wrong way, that is all!" Turning off the Mic, the boy crossed his arms. "That outta liven their spirits before they're herded into the meat processor and replaced by faceless dolls." Meanwhile, the man on the other side pounded much harder, muttering something Anti-Semitic, which caused the boy to raise an eyebrow. "Now what was that all about?" Curious, the boy went into the Principal's desk. Finding some 'Jack Danial's' and bottles upon bottles of pills, a copy of 'Mein Kampf'. "Well he sure as Hell ain't in Oprah's Book Club..." Just then, the pounding ceased, replaced by the sound of a drill. "And that's my cue!" He bolted up from the chair, pocketted a tone of Reese's Pieces and moved to the window. He slipped out, dropping down from the 2nd story just as the door came down, pushing the chair away.
The fat man ran over to the window and saw nothing. "Aw dammit! That turd did it AGAIN!" Before going to his desk and self-medicating.
Creator/Player Comments:
This is a character I've originally made for a 'Tales of Destiny 2' fanfic, which I've had more fun just RP'ing him. Since he was accepted as is, I've removed the 'help request' bit and will discuss the character:
The concept began a few years ago with one of the random Destiny 2 discussions on the Official Tales Forum. Someone had compared the time-travel plot to Chrono Trigger/Cross saying that Trigger is one of if not the best time-travel games ever and Cross is about the consequences of time-travel Vs Destiny 2 which has a really bad time-travel story that creates a very nasty paradox in the middle. The ending is the 'quick fix' type which is common for the series; defeat the main bad and everything is fine, all the changes made through time travel are 'undone' and Kyle got to grow up with his father and all it cost were the lives of a God and her children.
I love both Destiny and it's sequel, and after thinking about it decided to stop criticizing the flaws with the story and make use of them. Starting with that last bit; a cute game about the meaning of heroism allowing a 15 year old kid commit mass genocide and the only concern being 'Reala would disappear'. She did come back though but it was never explained how, and was she the only one who became human? That was something I decided to explore when I made Ryuusei, but instead of making him a Gary Stu, I used another element from the game that really bugged me. Darilshade, in the original Destiny was a bustling city and one of the main locations in the game. However, in less than 2 decades, the city went completely to hell with no explanation ever given (The Seinegald Royal Family just 'disappeared' altogether). So I merged the two, and the result is what you you've seen in this profile...or in RP, whichever is read first.
