It was possibly the furthest she'd been from Gotham, but atleast she saved a small fortune in travel expenses. Keira had not been expecting a grand welcome of any kind, or much recognition of who she was to start with. It took her more than a while to get used to the new surroundings and time shift, being a Gotham girl for the better half of her lifetime. The very large jumps in her traveling had been slightly nauseating, to be honest, as well. Still, being young and trying to make herself partially known with the right people, Keira kept her stomach in check and did her best to get used to it. No point in being weak. It had only been a day since her arrival after all.
She still felt out of place, particularly because of the older ages of the instructors, which she was vehemently set on joining. Her track record and experience alone should have made it easier, but she was not easily deterred, not from this mission. She was far from home, far from the insane inmates of Arkham, and far, possibly, from her personal hero, and she was not going to let it be in vain. There seemed to be many young recruits already present, many from different countries she didn't even recognize, and each gifted wonderfully. All the more reason to feel out of place.
Getting used to the surroundings involved not sleeping in her case. Sleep under her current pressure meant she would be so very likely to end up in someone else's nightmare, which could be terrifying. Thus, at two in the morning, she found herself awake, walking through dorms of the University that had atleast been polite enough to give her boarding for the time being. Even when in danger of being on the fritz, she was quite grateful for her telepathy at these times. There weren’t many people awake at this hour, or that she could see, anyway. She roamed around still in her daytime clothing, simply getting used to the school. In the back of her mind, she was tempted to take this time to go back to Gotham, if only for the night, and come back as early as possible, but no. it was not the time for acting like a homesick child, she had to be an adult. Atleast a little bit. Instead she settled for continuing her walk, half-hoping to find company, and beginning to grow a little hungry.
