Appearance:
Aside from being just 3 inches tall, Sain is slim, with black hair and hazel colored eyes. His appearance gives off a very appealing aura, with Sain often making himself look friendly and easy to approach. His outfits consists mostly of black, occasionally fake fur. The way his clothes fit seem almost magical-meaning Sain wears clothes that only fit him, not to small (haha) and not too baggy. As for as shoes go, Sain doesn’t care, as long as they look nice and match well. Style is a must, comfort is an option with this guy, who would rather stuff himself in an uncomfortable but nice looking outfit than wear something he could snuggle up with late at night. Because of the complication of Sain’s current size, he has to wear doll’s clothes, and they all look too cheery for him. Most of the time Sain takes clothes from the formal looking dolls, or the punk rock dolls he finds in stores. Thankfully they all seem to fit.
When Sain glares at people, his entire expression changes. He looks cold, and very threatening. This is a look often given to rats, or even cats at times to scare them off. Another is the still frozen stance, a posture that Sain takes on where he is completely frozen, except for his hands, which are usually hidden to grab at a weapon or way to defend himself. Sain knows the dangers out there for someone at his size, and is experienced at looking big, fighting and can blend in with his surroundings, especially when he wears all black. At night, not even the best of nocturnal owls would be able to pick Sain out.
Personality:
Sain is very nocturnal. Because during the day, animals, humans, insects-they’re all too much. He finds it easier to sneak around at night, and enjoys the solitude of being by himself. He is very crafty when it comes to improvising tactics and comes up with strange but workable ideas to get food. Sain always has to put his best interests first, as he can’t take care of someone else. If at all, Sain wants someone to take care of him, but he hasn’t grown enough trust with anyone, much less talk to a human being after his accident at the lab. Very closed and shy, Sain often has fears about his future, or what is out there that can hurt him. Too many times he can’t sleep because he wonders what’s going to happen tomorrow. Insecurity is a big part of his life. Often easily frightened, Sain keeps in mind that it’s hard for him to do things in life, and that really brings him down sometimes.
Although Sain finds it hard to, he enjoys reading the news, and is up to date with most current events. Because of his current situation, he doesn’t care for the good or the bad. Sain lives in his own world of giant objects and hiding everywhere. Secretly though, he hopes one day he might be able to help somebody out, even though he hasn’t received much help himself. He has a liking for kids, and would have liked to be a teacher if he was living a normal life. When he is faced with another person, he imagines himself to hold a straight face and act calm, things Sain has learned from watching pets interact with their owners. A straight face, calm, and firm. Or else he’d never get anywhere with human beings. Luckily for Sain, he has a lot of free time and loves to observe people and animals, and has a keen interest in both. Behavior studies have become important for him.
There isn’t much depth to Sain’s personality. Everyday is pretty much the same routine of looking for food, looking out for danger and plotting what to do tomorrow. He has a whole other side of polite mannerful ways that has been tucked deep down as Sain hasn’t had interaction with someone he could show that side in over a year. Otherwise, if Sain wasn’t 3 inches tall, he’d probably be polite, but devious in the way of persuading others to get what he wants. It’s a shame that this life changing thing has happened to him and Sain had to bottle his flashy dazzling personality away.
Abilities & Weaknesses:
Powers/Abilities
- Animal Tongue – Sain has gotten used to speaking with animals. He knows what mice want when they squeak in a higher tone, or what a cat feels like by it’s purr. Although Sain can’t mimic the sounds himself, this skill often comes in handy with dangerous situations. He is fluent in cat, dog, mice and bird, not to mention he has an capability to understand how insects work, and often enjoys the company of dragonflies and other flying bugs who flies in circles around him, but generally leaves him alone.
- Persuasive – Sain used to be extremely talkative, and even at his size he can still manage to convince someone to help him out, not that he wants to. Who knows he might meet If he decided to talk to strangers.
- Good at hiding self – Little holes, underneath a door frame, in a pencil case. You name it, and Sain can probably fit himself in. This makes it easy for him to spy on people, or just to keep himself hidden until he needs to come out. Not to mention sometimes he can stow away in a backpack or something else and hitch a ride halfway across town, something he would never be able to do himself. Because Sain is still a “human” his wits often outsmart other animals and insects of his size, so hiding behind a piece of cardboard or a vase will often provide a safe escape from danger.
Weaknesses/Physical Flaws/Psychological Flaws:
- Weak – Less than a pound. That’s how much Sain can lift by himself. He’s so fragile that he can’t carry more than a grape or hold onto the edge of a curtain. Don’t even think about fighting, Sain can barely fend off a rat. Luckily mice and other critters tend to hang around him, as his size makes him considerably less threatening.
- Unable to do many things by himself – Let’s face it, Sain isn’t going to get much done by himself. He can’t call people, draw, make food and do a billion other things a person of normal size could. He needs help, and that isn’t always easy to find.
- Hard to move around – Sain can’t takes buses, cars, and a walking distance of three feet is a kilometer to him. Because Sain is so small, he can’t just go somewhere because he wants to. Either he stays in one location, usually a home or a bakery where he can access all of life’s basic needs. If Sain really needs to travel, say from one room to another (a couple miles there), he’d have to hitch a ride on a person, or a toy car that can run by itself.
- Dangerous (to live so small) – Sain is three inches tall. That means even a rat or a small house cat could pose a potential danger. Not to mention large objects are falling around every corner and people of regular size don’t see Sain very well, resulting in him having to avoid crowded places for fear of being seriously hurt or stepped on. A height of a sofa is a danger to Sain, a fall from it could get him killed. The world is a big place, literally, and very dangerous for someone so small.
- Proper/Formal at times - Ever since he was a child, Sain has been taught manners and how to act in front of others. Now that he’s older, the old habits are coming back. Sometimes in conversations or other forms of social communication, Sain says really strange things, and has a habit of correcting people’s grammer.
- Easily impressed - Sain finds it hard to look down on something since he’s only 3 inches tall. When he was younger, he wasn’t often exposed to things in life, so a lot of the things he sees amazes him. Sain is also prone to believe lies and boasts.
History:
Sain was born into a wealthy family. His father was the owner of a large housing organization that supplied homes to international athletes and politicians. His mother was an retired actress at the time, having done many shows on Broadway and Wall street alike. The two lived in a lap of luxury, and when their son came, they made sure he could live to the best just like them. Sain was subjected to nannies who taught mannerisms, private teachers who thought they all knew best-it was a heck of a lot for a kid who barely had any contact with the outside world. Nonetheless, Sain dutifully studied and listened to his parents, naïve and innocent. By the time he was 10, Sain could speak three different languages, play two instruments and could recite the entire Greek anthem with all 164 verses. He had no friends around his age though, only his teachers and nannies, who although showed care or him, was all only brought on by his parent’s money.
Three weeks after his 16th birthday and two weeks after he attended his first public school, Sain’s parents were killed in a casino shooting in Las Vegas. Members of an international gang shot the mayor of the city and over 200 innocent civilians and tourists, including Sain’s parents. Afterwards the company Sain’s father had owned feel into devious hands and Mr. Cavalier’s financial will was disregarded, leaving Sain with no home and no money. Afraid of the company’s new owner, a Mr. Saxobeat who seemed to have only ill intent for Sain, he fled and ended up in a town almost two thousand miles away, lying and sneaking his way onboard aircrafts and trains. There he met Professor Hamburgar, a retired human body engineer and agreed to allow Sain to work for him. However all was not well and after two months of living with the professor, Sain found himself accidentally spilling vials of strange liquids on himself. This resulted in a strange DNA recombination and by the time Sain recovered, he found himself only three inches tall. Through a series of daring escapes and hitching, Sain now finds himself wandering from here to there, unsure of what to do. He is capable of surviving by himself at his size, but has no real intention of anything.
RP Sample:
The day would be perfect. Both of their families would be there, watching, watching. A pianist would be playing a song; the best man would be standing beside Finn while the groom nervously looked down the isle. And then the music would change; all eyes in the room would turn towards the entrance of the isle. A flowergirl would come first, throwing flower petals and smiling at the guests. Finally she would appear, all in white, face covered; accompanied by who Finn could only imagine would be her father. The guests would all be in awe, Finn’s mother, with tears streaming down her face would be smiling at them. And then Alyson would be standing before him, the priest reading their vows, and then with shaking hands he’d-
A sharp intake of air brought Finn back to his senses. He was in the bathroom, shirtless, staring at the mirror, debating whether he wanted his hair combed sideways or to leave it alone and just be messy for the day. His razor stood on a stand next to the comb, recently used. Today was the day he and Alyson were picking the location of their ceremony. When Mrs. Kent had pitched the idea of a church wedding to Finn, he had been skeptical, but eventually decided it was for the best. It was partly because it had been Alyson’s idea, and partly because it seemed like the right thing to do. Who didn’t have weddings in a church nowadays? It was unorthodox, and Finn’s parents were far too traditional to be pleased with anything less. This was why Finn was going to see Alyson with an open mind. She was an interior designer, and he was an architect. If their wedding wasn’t going to be gorgeous, then, well, the world was probably going to be turned upside down.
Of course, even if the wedding wasn’t going to be perfect, it’d all be fine for Finn because he was going to be marrying the most beautiful woman in the world. He had known Alyson for almost 8 years now. They’ve been together ever since he could remember. The idea of the proposal had taken Finn nearly 3 weeks to plan, but only a day to decide. The key item had been the ring he bought her, a majestic piece of jewelry that had taken almost half a whole month’s salary to buy. The lady who sold it to him had been quite envious herself, saying whoever his lucky princess was, there was no way she’d say no. The actual event took only a few minutes, but from it things became a spiraled whirlpool of pre-marrital affairs, from finding wedding outfits to which bakery was willing to make their cake. It was all so amazing for Finn, who never expected any of it, and was glad he had Alyson by his side. A side he’d be able to have forever. God, he was becoming so cheesy.
Putting on a shirt and pants, Finn left the house in a frenzy, feeling something telling him he was going to arrive late, and leave his wife- er, fiancée waiting. As it seemed, his hair would remain be retaining it’s morning glory, but it would it’s own way to look proper again. The place he arranged to meet Alyson was only a couple blocks away, a church Google had told him had been around during the earliest times of Capeside when the town was only a few houses and a general store. Pictures on the local listing page promised a beautiful view, with sound architecture, so Finn knew for a fact that Alyson had picked it just for him. He’d give it his normal go over, but it would be up to Alyson to do all the designing and arranging. There was no use trying to butt in on that matter anyway. Finn had no idea how to set up a wedding ceremony, and well, Alyson did, and she could do it well too. At first Finn’s mother had objected he told her this, saying that she needed to plan out her son’s marriage and that the couple should go and enjoy themselves. (Finn was sure his mother had been defeated when she called him one day and stiffly told him she wasn’t going to partake in anything regarding the wedding)
It took only ten minutes and half a Linkin Park CD for Finn to arrive at the church. He stopped and stared at it from his car. It was gorgeous, looking like something out of the eighteenth century. It’s main entrance was slightly open, and Finn took that as an indication that Alyson was inside. Slipping in silently, Finn found his fiancée gliding down the isle, looking like she was walking through the Enchanted forest. Finn had to smile at the sight, Alyson looked adorable when she was thinking. The husband-to-be quietly slipped up beside her and reached to tap Alyson on the opposite side. He couldn’t help it. She just looked too adorable.
