Lina was laying upon her stomach on the ground with her knees up like some teen girl reading a magazine as she giggled. A Kindle was before her in her left hand, bought after liquidating the total value of all the non-magical treasure she carried and opening a bank account with investments made. The sum total of what she carried was found to equal the GDP of Liechtenstein.
One of the first things she did was buy books on every subject regarding Earth and stuff them into the pockets on her robe; which had a slighting weight-reducing, extra-dimensional property to them. Anything else she couldn't fit on her or in the van was tucked away in multiple Kindles. Lina was digesting everything she could about Earth on every subject she could imagine.
Also before her was map and she looked at it from time to time while laying on the desert ground. "I knew we should of not taken that left turn at Albuquerque but I swear the Coyote was looking at me funny." She finally said, taking a bite of a carrot in her right hand.
"What do you guys think?" She asked, looking back to her two companions in crime and adventure. The riot over the now infamous 'Green Bay Incident' mainly because no records of what brought it on survive Lina's Dragon Slave. Even the AMHTF was stumped by the event. Lina had to admit, not having to fight bandits and the like was nice so she was enjoying her mini-vacation without Gourry.
Now if only Ed would lighten up around her. She so far had not blown up any people or buildings. Just punched the odd slimeball out for trying to get fresh with her. Swallowing, she looked back behind her at the van.
"Come on guys, what do you think?" She asked in a whiney tone that made it clear she wanted some answers. "How do we get to Japan from Tijuana?" She took another bite of carrot and chewed on it while waiting.

"Well you're sure giddy my Wascally Wabbit, see something you like? Maybe some naked pics of that chode Zac F*uckewon? Well I'm hurt, since you got two stand-up guys wight here." He teased while leaning against his van. He was a big help in getting Lina's assets liquidated, since carrying and paying with large quantities of loot; might set off a few Red Flags while trying to evade U.S. Law Enforcers. Luckily, he knew a couple guys in the States who specialized in this sort of thing as they did the same for him and his 'Gald'.
To answer her question, "Anyway, we're pretty far out of U.S. Jurisdiction. We could just take a Commercial Flight, but we still need Passports. Luckily, TJ's a sh*thole; so we could find someone to phoney up some papers." He then started patting the van. "The problem is, my Crib here doesn't quite meet the luggage requirements. So I'M gonna have to...persuade some Arm or Drug Smuggler to transport it for me."
He then shifted his gaze to the Alchemist. "...or you could get in touch with your Allience peeps and get us a flight?"

Edward was still very unhappy with how all of this turned out. He had already messed up his first impression with the Alliance, and now here he was; on the run from the US government while he was searching for a way to get into contact with the Alliance. The sooner he returned to them, the better; despite the rage of higher ups he'd likely have to go through. Better sooner than later, right? But sadly, as he was only a new member of the Alliance; he had no real way of contacting them. He figured he could try to get a private jet to take them to New Masada Island, and straight to Headquarters; but he was well aware that the Green Bay was still fresh on everyone's mind. Very few would have any way to know these three had been involved, the cause really; but it still made him hesitate. The fact that he'd be bringing Lina directly to the Alliance was in itself a problem. For all they knew, she could still be an enemy; despite her blunt statement of wanting to join.
He fixed those youthful golden eyes on RF, seriousness glittering within the depths. "I could very well try to book a private flight to Headquarters to meet with them; as I have no way to phone them or other means of contact. But Lina would likely be detained on sight. And of course, you might not be welcomed yourself. Given time, they might provide transport to Japan, but they would need good reason to do so." He narrowed his eyes. "And I'm not doing anything illegal just so that you can get your car into the country. I still don't see why you two want to go there; but you'll probably have to go by boat if you are that desperate to keep up with a vehicle. Get your fake passports if you must, but that's the limit to illegal activities that I will stand idly by and allow you to commit." He leaned his back on a tree, still standing; and closed his eyes irritably.

Lina had heard them both and thought for a moment before an evil grin appeared on her face as she turned to the two. "How about we just get one of these Cartels to fly us there after we...persuade them? Not to mention rob them of all their ill-gotten loot and blow up their drug supply." Lina's smile as down right satanic as she turned over and sat up.
"I used to do this kind of thing back home but most criminals were bandits plaguing merchant caravans and small villages, raiding them for money and whatever else was not nailed down and even some that was." Lina continued talking as her eyes almost looked starry-eyed at the thought of engaging in her favorite past-time, blowing criminals to kingdom come.
"So, whose-up for brow beating some bandits into getting what we want? Raise your hand!" She raised her hand and smiled before standing up.

"I don't really care if I'm 'welcomed or not'; I'm not interested in joining the Alliance. No offense dude, but I prefer to fly solo." Then addressed the van issue. "It ain't so much about the 'ride'; I mean sure there's the 80 inch TV, PS3, the Sound System and other crap that easily amounts in the $15-%20 Grand area; but all that sh*t's 'easily' replaceable." Except for the Game Saves; they'll be a bitch to recreate. "It's a little more serious than that, remember the 'Protection Spells' and 'Orichalcum Shocks' I mentioned? You know, the stuff that let this baby survive the CITY DESTROYING MAGIC? That's pretty uncommon... the metal anyway. I don't wanna leave it in the hands of the 'High End' Dealers; who happen to be magic savvy enough to identify it, replicate it and sell it to any pain in the ass of the League or your Alliance buddies."
Ed gave his protests about forging passports, and the Seishin responded with a half-smirk. "Aw, don't worry too much about that; didn't you hear? Everything's legal in Mexico! It's the American Way." Quoting aline from South Park.
Lina then expressed 'interest' in ripping off a Cartel. "First of all; it's 'Banditos', we're in Mexico remember? Second, why don't you give ME that starry-eyed look, whenever I mention Maxing your Bucket Capacity?" And yes these were spoken with a straight face. "Anyway, I can't really debate the ethics of ripping off a bunch of criminals who kill customer and enemy alike, when I just pitched phonying Documents. I will advise not to steal ALL that Drug money, since well these are among the richest motherf*ckers in the world. Suddenly having a fortune that rivals Lex Luthor, miiight raise a few questions; especially if you're wanting to join the Alliance." He then grinned evilly. "Me? I'd take the guns! ...and some of the Dope."

"How about... No?"He said scathingly. Really... Both Lina and RF had now dragged him to the end of his patience. The other two were treating this as if it were some vacation... And here he was... Still dealing with his own conscience at what had occurred in Green Bay. Why the hell had he even gotten involved? None of this would have happened if he'd acted just like any other civilian. Now he was on the run from the US government; and he would have to deal with the Alliance as well once he returned. Would they even allow him to remain after this? Or would they send him back to France; where he'd have a scathing Colonel to deal with as well as the failed active duty mission on his head.
The blond youth sighed as he straightened up; turning in the direction in which the border back into the US rested. "You two do whatever the hell you want. I'm returning to the US, and I'll find some way to get in contact with the Alliance. I'll tell them your interest in joining , Lina; I won't mention you, RF." The golden gaze narrowed as they fixed on Lina. "I'm giving you fair warning now... Destroy anymore cities and you'll have the whole of this continent on your back." With those words, he started to walk away; pulling the red coat tighter about himself as he left.

Post by Akito Katran on Aug 18, 2012 23:27:15 GMT -5
Akito rode over the rough terrain in Tijuana on a motorcycle he had rented from the nearest town, following a tip that a van matching the description of one seen leaving the city of Green Bay after said city was leveled by someone with some serious power. He had been assigned to investigate, and that investigation had brought him to a hill overlooking, among other things, the van that had been described to him by multiple surviving witnesses. Also, the Fullmetal Alchemist, or someone with the same coat, was leaving the van. Riding his bike down the hill, he parked nearby. Yep, the only person he knew of with that coat, that hair, and that height, or lack thereof, was Edward Elric. Akito raised his right hand to get the alchemist's attention as he removed his helmet with his left and hung it on the handlebar, kicking down the kickstand. "Hey, if you need a ride, I'll just be a minute. I'm here from the Alliance, about Green Bay, and I have a good reason to be."
Swinging his leg over the bike, Akito walked over nearer to the van, stopping five feet from it and placing his gloved palms on the ground. Blue electricity surrounded his hands, and more specifically, the transmutation circles on his gloves, for a short time, and two blocks of hard earth rose up right in front of and behind the front tires of the van. Easy enough to remove with alchemy, but hopefully an obstacle if the suspects tried to bolt. He then turned to face the bright red haired girl and the man who looked like a ghetto version of some commander from a TV show. "You heard that, right? You're both in some serious trouble if you are who I think you are. Did you have anything to do with Green Bay?" Most of his attention was directed at the male; the girl didn't look like she could blow up a city.

Lina was kind of sad to see Ed wanting to leave considering she wanted to learn about Alchemy from him but it was his loss. Turning to Ryu she was about to respond to him when the sound of a motorcycle and the joker on it. He seemed to know Ed and was talking then came to them.
So, it looks like Green Bay was still going to be something she couldn't live down. Now normally, Lina wouldn't care where blame was put but she liked Ryuusei and did consider him a friend. Though friend in Lina's book also meant target practice and his comment came a little close to being perverted.
Second was the complete disregard this guy showed her. Lina ran through possible responses to this and settled on the tried and true method of shock and awe. Do something big to get your audience's attention.
She ran through what spells would allow her to do that without screwing herself more then she already had. But she did want to punish this guy for his behavior so the motorcycle was toast.
"Dil Brand!" The ground underneath the motorcycle simply exploded upward and as the machine hit the height of it's journey upwards and just before gravity took it down, Lina said the next spell to use. "Fireball!" The machine simply got roasted in an inferno of flame that was so hot and fast the gas tank melted along with much of it. What fell down to earth was a pile of molten slag as the fuel had gotten consumed very quickly.
Taking another bite of carrot, she looked at the guy and crossed her arms. "You want to aim that look at me now Pudding Brains so we can talk and I can explain myself a little?" Lina simply said to the guy and waited for him to introduce himself to her.

He was about to make a 'what, no Scott?' comment after Ed said "How about No", but refrained when the Alchemist announced his departure from the group. What he did say was, "That's fine, like I said before I wasn't forcing you to come with us. I just hope things work out for you, dude and if we DO meet up again, how about another 'go-around'?" and gave the blonde youth a thumbs up. "On friendly terms."
Then suddenly, this guy showed up on his motorcycle; immediately he used Alchemy to trap the van where it was. The man started making accusations about Green Bay; guess it was only a matter of time... though he'd scoured the net thoroughly and didn't find much linking them. While the man was accusing them both, he was looking right at the Seishin. And then Lina fessed up, and provided some nice visual aids! Too bad, that was a pretty sweet Hog he rode in on. "Oh I think he does know it was you, Red. He's just...fixated on something else; while I am flattered, I have to tell you that I don't swing that way."

Post by The Horned Frog on Aug 19, 2012 20:44:51 GMT -5
New Masada Island. Eight hours ago...
He was preparing to leave his office. Piece by piece, his uniform and his equipment were becoming one on the Horned Frog's body. News reports were still feeding into what had happened in the city of Green Bay, Wisconsin. The home of one of the oldest franchises in the National Football League went up into a huge mushroom cloud. Fortunately for the Packers, they were no casualties and the team would be able to recover by the end of the regular season and would have to play in a hastily reconfigured Miller Park in nearby Milwaukee. This gave problems all around, but everything was still manageable.
However, when reports of a strange clothed red-headed woman started surfacing, his ears perked. It was strange that the Justice League had not responded to such an incident at all. That had baffled him, as they were to reply to situations like this. And nothing, nothing at all. Something wasn't right, and he was investigating. It was as if everyone else wanted to stand by and idle away, forcing the Horned Frog's hand. He wasn't too happy about this at all.
Once he did some digging around through intelligence, recent contact Edward Elric was actually there and had confronted the perp. For some odd reason, he had let this person get away with what happened. This person identified as Lina Inverse, an unknown who had extraordinary magical powers. Yet if this Inverse woman was able to blow away an entire stadium and hurt so many people, perhaps recon would be the best way to go. It was time for a call to the Fullmetal Alchemist.
After syncing his helmet in with the necessary contacts, he slid it on and made the call to Edward Elric. With a calm tone once he got into contact with his cell phone, David began to talk. "Fullmetal, this is Frog. From what I understand, you are in contact with the one responsible for the Green Bay disaster. If I can ask you politely, I would like to trace them through the GPS on your phone. I thank you for keeping your hand steady and once you get to San Diego, there will be an Osprey ready to pick you up and a position waiting for you at New Masada. Again, I thank you sincerely," David told Edward over the cellular device. By sticking with them, the alchemist gave the Foreigner their location. It was only a matter of time before the Frog would come face to face with this person.
He then moved his call to that of the New Masada staff. Immediately, a dispatch receptionist answered. Responding to a feminine 'yessir', David spoke with a firm tone: "I need an Osprey bound for San Diego and to drop me over Mexican airspace. I have some business to attend to... and I'm taking that kid and his Butler along with me." He was easily talking about Lord Phantomhive and Mr. Michaelis. Mainly to provide some magical backup. Once he hung up, he gave out a sigh. Why was it that he had to address this situation? Was he the last resort? Or did the Justice League wanted him to get into this situation? Next time that they had themselves a meeting at the Watchtower, he was going to make himself an appearance and politely ask why they didn't address this situation...especially when it happened in their backyard. In short, he was not too pleased. He need to prepare for the Imperium, not deal with a magical girl with a mean streak.
-------------------------------
Mexico...
He had dropped in from a thirty thousand foot drop with no problems whatsoever. Dropping into the countryside with a soft thud, he was in full gear and packed with every single weapon needed to quell any magical or spiritual threats. He moved quickly to hide the parachute and head towards the vehicle that the party had been located. The Horned Frog stayed silent as he looked over at the two others. Motioning with hand signals, he crept into the surroundings. The intentions were clear. They were to find this Lina Inverse and present her with two options. One was to have her submit and head back to New Masada for questioning. The other, more dangerous and violent option is defeat her and ship her back to the American authorities. Back on US soil, the courts would not be very kind to the young lady.
Within a half hour, he found the van and a flaming husk of metal and machine in front of his hidden position. The Foreigner stayed low in the bush, watching cautiously as he then spotted a younger gentlemen talking with an unknown person and the infamous Lina Inverse herself. Within his helmet, he narrowed his eyes. The plan at the moment was to observe and keep his presence off of their radar. David had to figure out what they were doing or at least what they were planning to do.
Watching on, David didn't much attention to what the Demon Butler and his master were doing. But he did forewarn them to be very quiet in approaching these people. What the Horned Frog didn't want was to give away his location. And in just seeing Lina simple blow that motorcycle up to smithereens, extra caution needed to be taken. This person did indeed wield an unearthly amount of power, and that was power to not take lightly.

[/style][style=width: 325px; font-family: georgia; font-size: 15px; color : #hexcode; margin-top: -50px;]Come now... If I couldn't do this much, [/color][/div] What sort of a butler would I be? [/color][/div]
The blond youth hadn't even left their line of sight when the roar of the arriving motorcycle made him halt in his steps. As the new arrival waved his hand, the golden eyes immediately zoomed in on the transmutation circles upon his gloves. Another alchemist? Actually, the guy did look a bit familiar... It took him a moment, but he was finally able to place a name. This was Akito, though Edward had never really paid much attention to the other alchemist before. The youth's face darkened as Akito mentioned the Alliance and the Green Bay incident. So the news had indeed reached the Alliance by now... If Akito had been sent to confront the perpetrator, then others would likely be close behind. "A ride once this is done would be nice, Akito." He said softly, stepping aside to let the guy pass and approach the two who were by the car. Edward turned and followed him; raising his eyebrows at the minor alchemy that was used. Not a bad job at all on Akito's part. Then, quite suddenly, the motorcycle blew up. Edward narrowed his eyes. There went his ride... He moved up to stand next to Akito, looking at Lina and RF. "If that explosion wasn't enough proof; Akito; it's the girl who blew up Green Bay; not the man."
Then, quite unexpectedly, he felt the phone in his pocket vibrate. Edward pulled the communication device out, and looked at the number with a confused look. New voice mail, and the number left had no name. But this phone had been given to him by the Alliance itself, so it had to be of some importance. "Just quiet, all of you..." He said cooly, raising the phone to his ear. Almost immediately, his eyes widened as he heard the message. Well damn... It seemed as if the Alliance leader himself was aware that he had been present during the disaster. But... He didn't seem to know of the blond's own involvement... The Foreigner sounded pretty serious at the moment, but he couldn't blame the guy. With the message completed, he lowered the phone from his ear and began to program their location into the GPS system. He now had a number by which means he could contact David himself; good. It would have been nice to have that number sooner. Edward found the exact latitude and longitude lines of where he stood through the GPS, and then sent them out in a text to the number through which Frog had contacted him; just to make sure the leader made it to the right place. Now he had a ride home as well; good. A helicopter wasn't a bad transport by any means. Edward allowed a smile to pass over his features as he finally put the phone back in his pocket and looked up at the other three; particularly Lina. "Looks like you're in luck, Lina. The Alliance will be coming in soon, and you can try to justify your actions and perhaps join later. I would suggest you come quietly though... Any attempts at escape now mean I'll have to act to keep you here. Akito here will be helping with that."
_____________________________________________________________________
Ciel had been seated at his desk in his residence room; which had been changed around so that is was a perfect replica of his office back home. Sebastian had certainly done a good job with the recreation, just as he did every other task well. The tour of the Alliance Headquarters had been rather uneventful; and so he had expected to have the rest of the day off. Not much excitement at all... And here; he had no company to worry about, no real business to tend to. So the boy was quite bored. The soft knock which came at his door made him raise his head from where he'd been resting them on his propped up hands. The door opened quietly and Sebastian himself walked in, tall and imposing; as usual. "Young master, I have brought you tea as well as a message from one of the Foreigner's representatives. " He soon stood across the desk from Ciel; and placed a silver platter upon the desk which bore the cup of tea. Ciel was a bit surprised that the leader of the Alliance was already trying to contact him, perhaps it was an invitation to some formal dinner where they could properly meet and greet. He picked up his cup and sipped the tea slowly, appreciating that flavor which Sebastian always produced without flaw. "Very well Sebastian, I'll hear the message now."
The butler inclined his head, and reached into an inside pocket of his tail coat to produce the message. He handed it over to Ciel, before starting to speak. "Apparently, there was a massive explosion which took place in the city of Green Bay in Wisconsin. From the intel which has been gathered; a small red-haired girl, gifted with out of this world powers, was responsible for the carnage. As of now, there have been no casualties; but countless have been injured. Only a short time later, the same girl was seen nearby; and a rather destructive battle took place. There is now only a crater left of that part of Green Bay. The Foreigner himself has ordered that we accompany him to confront this female. Line is now in Mexico, and there is an Osprey waiting for us as we speak which will take the Horned Toad and ourselves to the scene."
Ciel had paid close attention to the summary while his gaze swept over the letter, but he looked up quickly at the mention of the Osprey; apparent horror creeping steadily into the visible blue eye. "We'll be flying again...?" Sebastian offered a sympathetic smile and nodded slowly. "Indeed, my lord. It is the quickest way down to Mexico." Ciel groaned and rested his head in his hands for a moment, before sighing and standing up again. "I suppose we'd better get moving then; if the great leader is waiting for us." Sebastian bowed and stepped back, allowing Ciel to move past him and into the lead. Normally, he would have put on a travel coat; but it was far to warm here for such a thing. They proceeded through the headquarters at a quick pace; people they passed stood aside for them, looking utterly confused by their rush. Before long, they had reached the landing pad where the helicopter was preparing for take-off. They boarded the machine; Sebastian bowed to David while Ciel simply nodded in greeting. Then they were off, with a rather pale Ciel keeping his gaze locked firmly upon the ground; not wanting to look outside as he struggled to retain his dignity and hide his discomfort. Throughout the flight, Sebastian struggled not to smirk in amusement at his master's situation.
_____________________________________________________________________
Descending to the ground had been downright awful to Ciel. Sebastian had wasted no time in putting on his own parachute, and had Ciel ready to go within moments. During the preparation, Ciel muttered furiously to Sebastian in an undertone, not wanting David to hear. "I still say you should just carry me down there, Sebastian. At least you aren't on strings that could break and send me plummeting to by doom..." The butler shook his head, amused again by the open show of weakness Ciel was putting on before him. He waited until he had attached the last clip of the backpack before answering. "You know why we can't do that, my lord. If I were to drop at thirty thousand feet, carrying you at that, and land completely unharmed as you know I would... There would be quite a few questions asked. And I believe you said you didn't want anyone to learn what I truly am." Ciel snorted. "They'll find out eventually, there is to denying that. At least this David guy will; being the leader and all." All in all, it had been a rather miserable fall on Ciel's part. Sebastian had been forced to discreetly push his master from the edge of the airborne machine, and then dropped after him. Ciel was petrified to the point of being unable to scream; much as he wanted to. Sebastian had pulled the release on both his own and Ciel's bags, and shortly afterward they had landed unscathed.
Once the cloth had been packed away, the pair followed soundlessly after David; Ciel still trembling form head to foot from the ordeal. He was quickly regaining his composure though, Sebastian was rather impressed. They soon reached the scene, and concealed themselves alongside the Alliance leader, thinking over what to do next. After a moment, Ciel became aware that David had no intention of revealing himself just yet. "We'll handle this, Sir; if you don't mind. You of course, can come forward whenever you see fit." Then they slipped away, intending to leave their cover a good distance away from David's location; so that he would remain hidden. Once they had reached that distance, Ciel fixed his gaze upon the small group by the car. "Sebastian... Your orders are to detain the girl. Do not kill of severely harm her, and don't provide anyone here with a basis on which to suspect that you aren't human. No one except Ichigo knows your true identity, and I want it to stay that way for now. We both know she is gifted with strange powers, but you can handle it; I'm sure." Sebastian's smile was almost sadistic as he knelt down. "Yes, my lord..." He said softly, before rising to his feet and stepping out of the cover of the trees. Ciel followed him closely, striding toward the group with purpose.
Edward turned at once to stare at the approaching pair with raised eyebrows. Were they part of the Alliance? Judging by the way the butler was looking at Lina, he could assume they were here for her. But he'd thought that the Horned Toad himself would show up... Not... A kid and his butler. He said nothing though, merely waited. Once Sebastian and Ciel had reached the group, the butler tilted his head slightly as he fixed those crimson eyes upon her. "You are Lina Inverse?" He asked, and continued without waiting for an answer. "How about you make this easier on yourself, Miss... Just come quietly, and you can explain yourself later."

Akito stared as his motorcycle was maliciously destroyed by the girl. Dammit. He wasn't too happy with the short man's comment, and Ed's information earned a look that clearly radiated No shit, sherlock! Shaking his head, he nodded in agreement with what the alchemist said next about having to detain them. Then some random guy in a suit showed up and acted like he was placing the pair of suspects under arrest. Akito held out an arm between the butler and the redhead. "Sir, as much as I appreciate the help, for all we know, you may be an accomplice trying to get them out of trouble, so if you wouldn't mind stepping back?" He looked dead at Lina. "And you. What the hell are you doing? That stunt didn't exactly do wonders for your reputation, ya know. I have half a mind to immobilize the both of you and drag you back to New Masada like a pair of trussed up turkeys, but I'd rather not have to do that, so come quietly."

Lina looked at Ryuusei and said, "Yeah and the next time you say anything about my bucket capacity, your eating a Dragon Slave." She then looked to Akito and Ed then the strange butler. She rolled her eyes at the fuss the Alliance was spending on her when she was coming their way anyways.
"You know I was coming to you guys right?" Lina replied and then looked towards where the Horned Frog was hiding. "You might as well stand up too." Years of robbing bandits and those bandits following her to try and take their loot back had given her a sense when it came to being followed. Feeling her anger creeping up on her, she took a deep breath and counted to ten.
She then turned to Ryuusei and said, "Would you like to explain things to them while I go work my anger by finding local criminals to pound for information on their boss, most notably where to find him and whatever place he lives in." Lina then turned and walked away from the group, needing some stress relief and what better way then to blow through the local criminal element. If these cartels were anything like the bandits and pirates back home, they'd be easy.

Without warning, a green air projectile buzzed past Lina, colliding with a rock several feet ahead. "Sorry Red, you said it yourself that you wanted to meet these guys..." While his gaze was locked onto the redheaded Sorceress, he still kept an 'eye' on the people who were just dropping in on them (they definitely get points for style Hell one guy's in a Monkey Suit). "So you're staying put! After all, it's rude for the Guest of Honor to leave a party just as everyone's showing up."
He didn't let his guard down, not because of the new arrivals but because of Lina... this chick was C-R-A-Z-Y...but equally as cute. Regardless of how hot she was; if she tried something like in Green Bay, he wouldn't hesitate to waste her psycho-ass! She'd gotten her freebie back in Green Bay.
"So, is anyone else going to drop in on us? Maybe a hotty?" A few more moments passed. "F*uck!"

Once he heard Lina Inverse call him out, he began to stand up from his crouching position and began to make his way to the camp. This girl was different from any others. Most people would not sense him coming, and the Horned Frog would use the element of surprise. That element was gone, and he had no choice but to play her game. David began to move forward, as the black clad citizen soldier stepped out from the brush. Walking past Ciel, Sebastian, and Akito, the Horned Frog then stopped right in front of them. Lina Inverse was leaving the group and he had to act fast. The best way was to address her himself.
A green flash of light then hit a rock in the background. Under his calm demeanor, he kept moving forward. To him, gunfire and explosions were his symphonies. The one named Ryuusei Fuushino had addressed the sorceress, then felt allowed to speak up after this mysterious man.
He spoke up through his helmet. David's voice was not shrouded with a modification system, projecting his deep commanding voice. "I wouldn't recommend going alone, Ms. Inverse. This cartel that you're facing isn't like your typical criminals where you're originally from. They are military trained and would kill without hesitation. You need someone with experience in the trenches," The Horned Frog called out to the spell caster. Before his time with the Alliance, he had fought numerous syndicates and paramilitary groups. No matter how powerful this young woman may be, power can only get you so far.
To defeat these people completely, one not only needed shock and awe. One needed precision and a strategy to keep them from not coming back. For right now, if Lina Inverse needed to let out some stress, she needed to do it the right way. What better way for her to take down a crazed drug cartel in having the de facto leader of the Great Alliance assist her. And unlike most of the superhero community, David had learned to compromise in order to get things done. Ms. Inverse wasn't some force to be reckoned with, but a mere human. She was open to negotiation.
He then spoke out once more as he resumed his motions towards the sorceress. "I can vouch for your actions in Green Bay. But I can't do that if you won't let me help you," added the Foreigner in a stern voice. Since being a part of the Great Alliance, he had to learn to take compromise. The Alliance was a testament that he and his original comrades could compromise and co-exist. When the Tartalians came, he made agreements with both the extraterrestrials and the numerous governments on Earth. Yes, one could say that he had 'sold out'. But in the face of a threat that could wipe out both species, he wasn't selling out. He chose this by showing up that day, and it was his responsibility to take.
David then turned around towards the rest of the group. Giving a nod of appreciation to Ryuusei, the Frog then moved his attention towards Akito. To be honest with himself, there was a time to be stern and there was a time to negotiate. With someone as delicate as a Lina Inverse, it's best to work with them, even if the situation may play out into a trap. That trap may be having to eat that same blast Lina Inverse had given to Lambeau Field. It was not a result that the Horned Frog wanted.
"Akito, I do not want threats of any sort. That would escalate the risk of hostilities," David said before looking over at the flaming debris that used to be a motorcycle. "However, I do understand that you need a new ride. You will be compensated once you get back to New Masada." Sure, it was easy to be mad and bark orders, but it wasn't needed. Teamwork was needed, and if Lina wanted to defeat this cartel...she was not going to be alone. Plus, it would test the mettle of the new people in the group.
Once the Horned Frog had said his piece, it was time to get a strategy created and work towards taking this well organized paramilitary group down. He had the necessary firepower and had the fighting ability to cut off the head of the snake and put a dent into the black market. Crossing his arms over his chest, he waited for a response and perhaps an easing of tensions between everyone here. Now was not the time for sticking out his chest and proclaiming superiority, it was a time for compromise and understanding. If he could control Lina Inverse by letting her take down these hardcore criminals, the easier he could bring her to New Masada and figure out who she is while seeing why she was here.
